Currently with more than 450,000 constantly growing members, US Lacrosse is the largest lacrosse organization in the world, let alone the United States. As the sport’s national governing body, US Lacrosse provides national leadership, structure and resources to fuel the sport’s growth and enrich the experience of participants. Their website serves as their main avenue to generate and process memberships in addition to providing free resources to help improve the game.

What Was Done

During the redesign of 2016, US Lacrosse migrated content management systems – DotNetNuke to Drupal – which involved recoding from .NET to PHP. Functionally, we used Drupal’s core to better serve content dynamically so there will be less work involved to maintain information on a daily and weekly basis. From a graphics viewpoint, we not only produced strictly defined templates that would accommodate each different area of the website, but we also introduced a brand new navigation that involved sorting by visitor constituency. Throughout the migration, we examined each and every page to make sure it fit our new branding guidelines and made sure it was relevant for the intended visitor.
